The Best Cocketeles and Ceviche are in the Valle De Guadalupe

So I have been eating at all the “Marisco” (seafood) carts in Ensenada.  There are so many good ones with La Guerrense being the most famous.  It was the one featured on Anthony Bourdain’s show.  Located downtown, it’s famous and always packed.

But the very best one is NOT in downtown Ensenada but actually located at the stoplight in San Antonio de las Minas in the Valle de Guadalupe.  It’s called MARISCOS PAEZ

Run by Don Ramon and his sister Choco, they make the very best ceviche and seafood cocktails (cocketeles) in the whole area.  Super clean, Don Ramon is a master of his craft. He takes great pride in doing it for over 20 years and it shows each and every day.  His customers are loyal and dedicated.  The seafood is always fresh and delicious.

His sister Choco is the ceviche lady cutting the ingredients fresh from scratch.  Each morning, they get the fish from the sea and all the shellfish including clams, oysters, shrimp, octopus, and more.  She mixes it up fresh as soon as they arrive at the cart which is usually around 11:00 am.  It takes about 1 hour to prepare and then they open around 12 noon for customers.

The best way to eat a ceviche tostada is to ad your favorite hot sauce and take one bite at a time. It will hook you! Super delicious!

So don’t miss this street food when you come to the Baja Wine Country.

It’s simple to find……

From Ensenada, driver over the mountain into the wine valley on the Ruta del Vino, pass the first light.  Drive about 100 yards and look on your right side.  Boom!  Your welcome!

Enjoy!
