Other things to note
Come feed the chickens! Our property is home to friendly naturally fed chickens. Guests are welcome to join us in picking fresh eggs in the morning.
Fresh Veggies! We also have lovely gardens where our guests are welcome to pick herbs or vegetables to make fresh home-cooked meals.
Water is King in the Desert! Water use in the desert is precious so we ask our guests to monitor excessive water usage. Our solar powered domes feature freshwater that is then sent to bio-sand filters and re-used to feed our non-edible plants. In other words, we reclaim, clean, and recycle the grey and black water for NON-HUMAN purposes. Oh, we also harvest all the rainwater during our wet season; Dec-Mar.
Spring and Fall Climate:
Our weather is usually perfect during this time of year. Temps hover around 70 F during this time. No need for heat or fans.
Summer and Winter Climate:
At the very hottest time of year; usually July, August and September, the outside temperatures sometimes can get over 100 F and since we’re only 15 minutes from the ocean, the air can also get a little humid. Inside the domes, the air is much cooler due to the outstanding insulating properties of mother earth. It can be about 75 F in the domes when the outside is 105F. Nevertheless, we do offer space fans to keep the air flowing. It just makes the space super comfortable during these extreme temperature days.
For winters months; December, January, and February, the temperatures, at night, can get below freezing, Inside the domes, during these times, the temperature will be about 55-60 F, so we offer space heaters for those that like to keep it cozier.
We also have (2) outdoor-friendly dogs. Upon request, we can place the dogs in our spacious kennel during your stay. Just let us know.
The dome is non-smoking
No pets allowed in the domes
We hope you will join us in the wonderful Valle de Guadalupe for your upcoming vacation!
